Tozer Seeds has recently donated a selection of vegetable seeds to The Food Explorers. They are currently running a food education programme for children in association with the Kensington and Chelsea Foundation. The programme teaches primary school children about the food they eat, how it is made and where it comes from. It encourages them to get excited about cooking and eating new types of food with a focus on increasing fruit and vegetables through a hands-on, interactive week of learning and sharing. Our goal is to improve their long term eating habits by exposing them to a wide range of skills, flavours and ingredients that they might not otherwise consider.
As part of the program they are developing a new six raised bed allotment garden for the children at Oxford primary school, the seeds will be used as part of the planting lessons taking place in June.
